Make Cent$ Program

Opt-in to automatically round up your debit card purchases to the nearest dollar.  The extra cents will be transferred into an eligible savings account.  Limitations and restrictions may apply. 

Free Automated Overdraft Transfers 

If you accidentally overdraw your checking account, funds can be automatically transferred from the savings account of your choice to cover the transaction. Limitations and restrictions may apply.

What are the qualifications to earn premium dividends and ATM fee refunds?

To earn the premium dividend rate and ATM fee refunds; the following qualifications must be met in that month:

  • 20 debit card purchase transactions
  • Enrolled in eStatements
  • At least one ACH credit (Direct Deposit, etc.)
  • Correct address on file
How do I report a lost Debit Card?

Cardholders can report card issues by calling 1-866-960-2266

How do I increase my ATM withdrawal limit?

Contact your local Financial Services Officer to request an increase.

What Overdraft Protection Plans are available?

Privilege Pay is an overdraft protection product offered to eligible members to be used for checks, ACH, bill pay and recurring debit card transactions. You must opt-in for coverage of ATM and one-time debit card transactions. Limitations, restrictions and fees may apply. A fee of $30 may be charged each time a Privilege Pay transaction is presented for payment, even if the same transaction is presented for payment multiple times or ways.

Privilege Pay available limit will be up to $500. Checking accounts are to be brought to a positive balance within 30 days. NSCCU reserves the discretionary right not to pay any item that would overdraw your account. 

CheckMate Overdraft Protection is available to qualified members that have a checking account and have applied for the product. CheckMate is a revolving loan product that bills the member monthly. Limitations, restrictions and fees may apply.

Will I get suspicious activity notifications? 

Suspicious activity notifications for Visa card holders may be delivered through phone, text messaging and/or email communications.

How do I get a Debit Card?

Many of our service center locations offer instant issue debit cards at the branch.  You may also contact us at 701-858-9300 to request a debit card. When you make a donation to Farm Rescue at a North Star CCU branch, we’ll match your donation and you’ll receive a custom Farm Rescue-branded debit card.

How do I activate my card and/or change my PIN?

To activate your debit card or change your PIN, please call 1-800-992-3808.  North Star employees are not able to change your debit card PIN.

What should I do if I need advanced or after hours debit card support?

You may call our Advanced Card Support Center at 1-866-960-2266.  They can assist you with items like:

  • Reporting a lost or stolen card
  • Initiating a debit card dispute
  • Troubles with digital wallet tokenization
  • Activating your debit card
  • Changing your PIN
  • Damaged card replacement
  • Declined transaction support
  • Travel plans
