We are seeing a significant increase in scams this holiday season. Fraudsters are sending fake texts that look like they’re from North Star Community Credit Union and asking members to “verify” transactions or click a link.

As a reminder, North Star Community Credit Union will NEVER:
❌ Ask for your Anytime Online username or password.
❌ Send a text asking you to click a link to verify your account.
❌ Ask for a verification code that was sent to you via text or email.

Remember: You should NEVER share your login information with anyone - ever.

Our Pee Wee Penguin Club is for members ages 0-12. You can help the “littles” in your life begin saving and developing healthy financial habits at an early age by opening this account with them (an adult would be a joint owner on the account).

Youth Certificate of Deposit

Start them on the path to solid savings with a special CD specifically designed or our members under 18 years of age. Unlike traditional CDs, our 18-month Youth CD allows deposits and withdrawals during the term (minimum of $100) and a one-time rate bump when you provide a report card.  You can open with as little as $100 to begin, and continue to add funds throughout the term to build on your savings. (Limit one per member, maximum $10,000 deposit).

Meet the Characters

Pee Wee Penguin character

Pee Wee loves drawing and camping. He’s got a head for numbers, and enjoys helping penguins and people learn about money. He’s full of ideas for saving and making money, but sometimes he can’t resist splurging on a new comic book or fish milkshake. He wants to be the first penguin astronaut when he grows up, but he’s afraid of heights. He might become a math teacher instead.

Kiwi Penguin character

Kiwi likes playing snow soccer, reading, and dancing to the latest music. Kiwi might be a little bossy sometimes, but she watches out for her friends Pee Wee and Sheldon and tries to keep them out of trouble. Kiwi dreams of playing soccer in the Olympics one day. She also wants to be a famous writer, so Pee Wee is helping her learn how to save up money for college.

Sheldon Penguin character

Sheldon might be little, but he’s really smart. Sheldon is always taking things apart and experimenting, but sometimes his contraptions and experiments get him into trouble. He wants to become a scientist and help save the environment. Pee Wee is helping Sheldon save up for his first chemistry set.
