Lemieux Earns Emerging Leader Award

Kylee Lemieux, Marketing Manager at North Star Community Credit Union, was recently honored with the Emerging Leader Award by the Dakota Credit Union Association. This award recognizes Lemieux for her leadership, professional growth, commitment to service and advancing the credit union’s cooperative mission across North and South Dakota.

Since joining North Star in 2022, she has played a transformative role in shaping the credit union’s marketing strategy, brand presence, and organizational communication efforts. Under her management, the marketing department expanded from a one-person operation to a collaborative team of three.

Colleagues say her work has helped build a culture of creativity, collaboration and employee engagement, which fosters an environment where employees feel supported, empowered, and connected to North Star’s mission of serving members and communities. Her contributions have helped elevate the organization’s brand presence and supported multiple marketing recognitions in recent years, including the department being named a finalist in the CUTimes 2025 Credit Union Luminary Awards Excellence in Marketing category.          

“Kylee leads with humility, authenticity, and a genuine commitment to the people around her,” said Kinsey Neshem, Marketing Coordinator at North Star Community Credit Union. “She has a strong ability to encourage growth in others while continuously strengthening both our team culture and the member experience.”

Beyond her role at North Star CCU, she also serves as Vice Chair of the Dakota Credit Union Foundation Board of Directors, helping to guide the philanthropic branch of the Dakota Credit Union Association across North and South Dakota. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Drake Threshing Association, the Rugby Public Schools DECA Advisory Committee, and the Rugby Public Schools CTE Facilities Review Team.

A graduate of Minot State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Lemieux remains committed to continued professional development and cooperative leadership. In 2025, she completed the Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) program through the National Credit Union Foundation.
