North Star Community Credit Union is pleased to announce the addition of Joshua Moen as the new Retail Branch Manager for the Devils Lake and Tolna branches. Moen joined the organization in November, bringing nearly two decades of experience in financial services and a strong passion for serving members and communities across North Dakota.

A graduate of Minot State University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Moen began his financial career at age 16 and has since grown through a wide variety of roles, including teller, mortgage processor, loan assistant, collateral inspector, financial officer, and most recently, branch manager at a credit union in Fargo. His diverse experience and member-first mindset make him a strong addition to the North Star Community Credit Union team. Joshua-Moen-Headshot-and-Quote

Originally from Nekoma, Moen shared that North Star Community Credit Union’s mission - and the people behind it - drew him to this role. “Everyone from the top down truly wants you to succeed and genuinely cares about every member,” he said. That stood out immediately.”

Since stepping into his new role, Moen says the most rewarding part has been the people. “I’m working with an amazing team and meeting great members every day,” he noted.

As Retail Branch Manager for both Devils Lake and Tolna, Moen looks forward to supporting North Star Community Credit Union’s mission by championing member relationships and strengthening the credit union’s presence throughout the region. His focus is on helping members discover the tools, resources, and accounts that can support their long-term financial goals. “I’m excited to get out into the community, build connections, and help every member grow their financial future,” he added.

Beyond his work at North Star Community Credit Union, Moen is deeply involved in community service. He is an active volunteer with Make-A-Wish North Dakota, helping identify and coordinate wishes for children across the region. He also serves as a lay minister for two churches in Eastern North Dakota.

Moen shared that North Star Community Credit Union stands apart because of its culture. “The management team truly is there to help you and every member. You’ll never want to work anywhere else - this is an institution that genuinely cares about its people.”

When he’s not at the branch, Moen prioritizes a healthy work-life balance by going to the gym and spending time walking his dog in the evenings.

“We are thrilled to welcome Joshua to our North Star Community Credit Union family,” said Julie Hamilton, Regional Branch Manager (Central Region). “His leadership experience, commitment to service, and genuine care for our members make him an outstanding addition. We are excited to see the positive impact he will have across both the Devils Lake and Tolna communities.”

Community members are invited to stop by our Devils Lake branch to meet Joshua and help welcome him to the Devils Lake community. He looks forward to meeting members, neighbors, and local business partners as he settles into his new role.
